Old Mission Harbor

Originally founded in 1839 by the Rev. Peter Dougherty and Rev. John Fleming, Old Mission Harbor housed a school and post office that served the community that is now known as Peninsula township. Old Mission now serves peninsula township with a great beach, playground and an excellent anchorage. Great protection from the north and south, Old Mission is a great stop on the way to or from Elk Rapids. Get some sun, spend the night or just stop and have lunch and look to the crystal clear bottom. Old mission is uncrowded and worth the visit.
