DeTour

Detour is surrounded on three sides by water, Lake Huron, the St. Mary’s River and Detour Passage. The summer highlight is the 88 slip DNR Marina with full services. Detour has miles of beaches, some sandy, where you can consider yourself lucky to see another sunbather. There are several waterfront picnic areas and the “northern-most” Botanical Garden in Michigan all with views of passing Freighters. The gateway to the North Channel, Detour is a quiet and subdued community where most things happen slowly like the passing ships.
